Elephant King on Acrylic

When creating this piece I wanted to convey the magnificence of the elephant. It's an animal that speaks to many and for good reason. Not only are they incredibly intelligent but they are also driven by their desire to protect one another. Their family bonds are deep and foremost in their existence. Sound familiar? Yes, it's a lot like us humans. 

I used the colors of the Maasai to adorn this regal king. It seemed fitting to pay homage to him by draping him in the way of the most celebrated warriors in all of Africa. The adornment is meant to designate his greatness and to honor his life in service to his herd.
